Dogs and the Law – What You Need To Know

Animal law is the body of law surrounding pet ownership, wildlife, animals used in the entertainment industry and animals raised for food and research. Important issues in animal law include animal cruelty, companion animal concerns, animal breeding and animal estate planning.

Our speaker, Greg will share his knowledge about how the law has historically looked at animals and some promising new trends. He will also discuss the role of pets in divorce and things to think about when estate planning for pets.

Greg Kincaid is not only a lawyer practicing in Overland Park, KS, he is an animal lover, a New York Times Best Selling author of several dog themed novels including “A Dog Named Christmas” and “Christmas with Tucker.” Both of these best sellers have been made into Hallmark movies. Greg primarily practices as a divorce mediator and has helped many families resolve issues around their pets. He has published several articles on dogs and the law and written about service dogs and their use in the courthouse.

After the presentation, Greg will have some of his books available for purchase and is happy to autograph the books for you.  Books are $15.00 each (check or cash only (no credit cards). If you would like to reach out to Greg, in advance, you may contact him at gkincaid@hrkklaw.com.
